Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Adjustable wrench
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Pliers
  • Socket set
  • Safety gloves and goggles

Step-by-Step Assembly

  1. Unpack and Inspect: Remove all packaging materials and inspect parts against the parts list for any damage or missing components.
  2. Handle Assembly: Attach the upper and lower handle sections using provided bolts and hardware. Ensure all connections are tight.
  3. Install Wheels: Attach all four wheels to the axle using the provided washers and cotter pins. Ensure wheels rotate freely.
  4. Attach Grass Bag: Connect the grass collection bag to the rear discharge chute using the mounting brackets provided.
  5. Install Battery (if electric): For electric models, install the battery according to the specific electrical diagram provided.
  6. Add Engine Oil: Add the recommended SAE 30 oil to the engine crankcase up to the full mark on the dipstick.
  7. Fuel System Setup: For gas models, add fresh unleaded gasoline to the fuel tank. Check all fuel line connections.
  8. Final Inspection: Check all bolts, nuts, and connections for proper tightness before first use.
Warning: Always wear appropriate safety equipment when assembling or operating the mower. Keep hands and feet away from moving parts.

Troubleshooting

Common Repair Procedures

  • Blade Replacement: Disconnect spark plug, tip mower on side, remove blade bolt, install new blade with cutting edge toward ground
  • Air Filter Service: Remove filter cover, clean or replace filter element, ensure proper sealing when reinstalling
  • Spark Plug Replacement: Remove spark plug wire, clean area, remove old plug, gap new plug to 0.030", install and tighten
  • Drive Belt Replacement: Remove deck, release tensioner, remove old belt, route new belt according to diagram, reassemble
  • Wheel Replacement: Remove cotter pin and washer, slide wheel off axle, install new wheel with proper alignment
  • Cable Adjustment: Locate adjustment points, loosen lock nuts, adjust cable tension, retighten and test operation
