Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Engine won't start Empty fuel tank, stale gasoline, spark plug issue Add fresh fuel, check spark plug, ensure choke is properly set
Poor cutting performance Dull blade, improper cutting height, wet grass Sharpen or replace blade, adjust cutting height, wait for grass to dry
Uneven cutting Uneven tire pressure, bent blade, uneven deck Check tire pressure, inspect blade, level mower deck
Mower won't self-propel Drive cable disconnected, worn drive belt Check drive cable connection, inspect and replace drive belt if needed
Excessive vibration Unbalanced blade, loose components Balance or replace blade, tighten all bolts and fasteners
Grass clumping Wet grass, cutting too much at once, dull blade Wait for dry conditions, cut more frequently, sharpen blade

Maintenance Schedule

  • Before each use: Check oil level, inspect blade, clear deck of debris
  • Every 25 hours: Sharpen blade, check air filter, inspect spark plug
  • Every 50 hours: Change oil, clean under deck, check drive system
  • Seasonal: Drain fuel for storage, lubricate moving parts, check tire pressure
  • Annual: Replace air filter, spark plug, inspect and replace belts if needed
