Step-by-Step Assembly
- Unpack and Inspect: Remove all packaging materials and inspect components for damage during shipping.
- Handle Assembly: Attach upper and lower handle sections using provided bolts and hardware. Tighten securely.
- Wheel Installation: Mount wheels onto axles and secure with retaining clips or nuts as specified.
- Deck Height Adjustment: Set cutting height using adjustment lever. Test all height settings for smooth operation.
- Engine Preparation: Check oil level, add fuel (unleaded gasoline only), and install battery if electric start model.
- Safety Features Check: Verify operation of safety key, blade control lever, and deadman switch.
- Initial Test Run: Start engine in safe area and check all functions including self-propulsion system.

Troubleshooting

Common Repair Procedures
- Blade Replacement: Disconnect spark plug, tip mower on side, remove blade bolt (left-hand thread), install new balanced blade
- Drive Belt Replacement: Remove deck, release belt tension, remove old belt, route new belt following diagram, reassemble
- Carburetor Cleaning: Drain fuel, remove carburetor, disassemble and clean with carb cleaner, reassemble with new gaskets
- Spark Plug Replacement: Remove old plug, check gap (0.030"), install new plug, tighten to 18-22 ft-lbs
- Oil Change: Run engine to warm oil, drain completely, refill with SAE 30 or 10W-30 to proper level
- Air Filter Service: Remove cover, clean foam pre-filter, replace paper filter annually or when dirty
